Talking Cake is a vibrant, six-piece potent and professional band based in Roanoke, Virginia.
They perform frequently across venues and regional festivals throughout Virginia, delivering high-energy sets designed around the highlights of both legendary bands.
Four frontmen. Solid back-end groove architects. One explosive live show. Talking Cake seamlessly weaves the hyper-rhythmic art-punk of Talking Heads with the dry wit, deadpan flow, and iconic brass of Cake into a single, seamless, dance-floor-packing experience.

Known throughout the local music scene as the dynamic, charismatic frontman for Phat Laces, Mike brings undeniable stage energy while taking the lead on the iconic, deadpan flow and punchy hooks of the Cake catalog while anchoring the backing vocals on Talking Heads hits.

Bringing high-octane energy and effortless virtuosity, Henry is the lead guitar force driving Talking Cake’s signature sound. Henry is a seasoned musician, and his guitar work is known for its sweet tone and lightning finger work, a combination that has allowed him to grace the stages of Virginia and North Carolina for years.

Curtis' musical journey started on guitar before also including percussion over 30 years ago. With high energy, theatrical presence, and rhythmic precision on stage, Curtis delivers the distinctive vocal style required to pull off David Byrne's legendary tracks and Cake's layered harmonies.

Daniel brings the horn lines that make Cake sound like Cake. And the horn lines that Talking Heads forgot to write. He also pulls double duty on keys, sometimes playing both at once. When he's not rocking with Talking Cake, Daniel plays blues with the Woogemen and polkas with the Sauerkraut Band.

Co-founder and champion wrestler, Charlie brings muscle, agility, and relentless energy to the rhythm section and keeps Talking Cake’s groove pinned down tight. Whether driving complex tempos or keeping the dance floor moving, his dynamic drumming provides the backbone for the band's high-octane sound.

Co-founder, Army veteran, disc golf extraordinaire, and the low-end anchor of Talking Cake. Rooted deep in the pocket, Ben serves up pure tone, relentless groove, and the kind of basslines that keep the room locked in and moving.
